Z was invited by some friends to be in a pantomime on Christmas Eve, and as he loves anything to do with acting he was 'in'. He decided that he'd be a shepherd. We had the rehearsal today, followed by a Christmas party. We had a great time - shame we had to go shopping afterward!
No sooner do we get back to San Francisco than Christmas is upon us again! We're very lucky to have had the chance to take the kids out to a few Christmassy things since we've been back. Z and M went to 'Deck the Hall' at the SF Symphony, then to 'The Nutcracker' at the SF Ballet, as well as a friend's ice skating concert. The kids also had their school break up party during the week, which included a puppet show as well as some Christmas songs Z's class had been practicing. Then last night we took the kids downtown to see the lights and to visit Santa! Needless to say they had a fabulous time, even if A wasn't too sure what to think of the old guy in the red suit!
We just arrived back after three great weeks in Australia. The kids had a blast, and the parents did too. We spent quite a bit of time in Brisbane, but also managed to get up to my folks holiday house on the Sunshine Coast. The kids had a fabulous time playing in the garden, going to the beach and going on walks around the neighbourhood. Z's favourite was the visit to Australia Zoo, seeing the lizards and kangaroos. It was HOT! But I think we dealt with it pretty well and the kids were fine. It was hard to come back to colder than average weather in SF! It was great to catch up with everyone in Australia, though we didn’t get to venture outside of SE Queensland, so hopefully we’ll get to catch up with everyone else on the next trip, which should be sometime next year.
